Black and white \u2013 symbols of contrast and drama \u2013 characterize the design of this edition and reflect Queen’s musical identity. The 1975 album is considered one of the most elaborate of the 20th century and a milestone in the band’s history. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon, and Roger Taylor wrote music history together. Their stylized portraits adorn the black cap of the writing instrument and refer to legendary album covers such as Queen II and Hot Space.<\/p>\n

At the center is Bohemian Rhapsody: an epic work that combines piano ballad, opera, and rock and embodies Mercury’s vision of musical greatness. His penchant for theatrical roles and the iconic black-and-white harlequin pattern inspired the rhombic design of the body. Brian May’s characteristic guitar sound is reflected in the platinum-coated cone, whose design is reminiscent of the controls on his legendary electric guitar. The cone ring bears the album title A Night at the Opera.<\/p>\n

The edition is limited to 1,975 fountain pens and rollerballs.
